Dietary Guidelines
An ayahuasca ceremony requires preparation. Physically, Mentally & Spiritually.
The Physical preparation will allow the medicine to work in cooperation with your emotions, mind and energy.
Fasting, vegitarian or vegan are ideal preparation and a great way to clear out toxins before the ceremony.
Before participaing in Ayahuasca Ceremony you should eliminate the following from your diet:
One Week:
Alcohol
Marijuana
Coffee / Tea
All Street Drugs
Red Meat / Pork
Dairy
Refined Sugar (Fruit is good)
Caffeine & Stimulants
Junk Food
Processed Food
Spicy Food
Ice, Ice Cream, Ice Cold Drinks
Chocolate
Animal Fat / Lard
Carbonated Drinks
Salt or Pepper
Fermented Food
Sexual Activity including masturbation
3 Days:
These foods contain an amino acid that interacts with the active ingredients in the medicine and can have severe health consequences. Even worse the medicine may not work.
Aged Cheese
Cured Meats
Processed Meat
Pickled or Fermented Food- Sauerkraut, kimchi, caviar, tofu, pickles
Sauces- Soy, Shrimp, Fish, Miso & Terriyaki Sauce
Soybeans
Snow Peas, broad beans
Dried or Overripe Fruit – raisins, prunes, overripe bananas or avocados
Meat Tenderizers
Yeast- Sourdough bread, Marmite, brewers yeast
Alcohol

There are some medications that are dangerous to take before an Ayahuasca Ceremony.
14 Days Prior: COMPLETE BAN
MAOI (MonoAmine Oxidase Inhibitors) Marplan, Nardil, Emsam, Parnate
SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, Pexeva, Zoloft
7 Days Prior: HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED
DMT
5MEO-DMT
Psilocybin
Mescaline
Opiates (Heroin, morphine, codeine & opium)
Cocaine
Ecstasy, MDMA, MDA, MDEA, PMA
Amphetamines, Ritalin, Adderall, ephedrine, meth, dex
Kava

2-3 Days Prior: THESE WILL COMPROMISE THE EXPERIENCE

Antihypertensives (high blood pressure medicine)

Mental Guidelines
When preparing emotionally connect with yourself. The full range of emotions is available during the ceremony.
If possible maintain an even emotional environment. We understand that isn’t always possible (and it may be the reason you need to attend ceremony.)
Avoid violent, suspenseful, emotional movies for two weeks.
Take nature walks
Spend time alone
Meditate
read “Awareness” by Anthony De’Mello
Listen to soothing music
Identify what situations in life ‘trigger’ you. What challenges you need to face, how you can grow, habits you can shift. This will help bring awareness.
Write down your intentions and outcomes you would like to receive from ceremony.
